The Insurance Intermediaries Qualifying Examination (IIQE) is the qualifying examination for people who want to be licensed as insurance agents or brokers in Hong Kong. Its papers are set to the Insurance Authority's syllabus, and the the Vocational Training Council (VTC), through the PEAK Exam Centre runs the sittings.

Which IIQE paper should I take first?

Paper 1, Principles and Practice of Insurance, is the paper every intermediary needs. You then add the paper for the business you will sell: Paper 2 for general insurance, Paper 3 for long term insurance and Paper 5 for investment-linked long term insurance. Your principal confirms the exact set.

Is the MPF exam part of the IIQE?

No. The MPF exam stopped being part of the IIQE on 2 May 2013 (Insurance Authority, IIQE page). MPF intermediaries sit a separate examination recognised by the MPFA.

Is there a free IIQE mock exam?

Yes. Every live paper on IIQE Prep has a free timed mock: 20 questions in 30 minutes, marked against that paper's pass mark, with a worked answer for each question. The questions are our own original practice material, not past or official papers.
